Working with SCA Designs, &Larry developed the concept, spatial direction and visual language for GIC’s reception spaces. Conversations with stakeholders and a study of the organisation’s history shaped three installations, supported by room naming, wayfinding and material choices.

Primed for Change

Five windows express GIC’s values of Prudence, Respect, Integrity, Merit and Excellence, proportioned to recall the GIC mark. Live weather data from cities where GIC has offices keeps the horizon in motion, reflecting change and the need for vigilance.

Further Together

Projection mapping traces GIC’s global communications across a field of polyhedrons. Using lagged email data, the work makes the organisation’s reach and connections visible.

A Torn Dollar Bill and Gold for Singapore

This work recalls Dr Goh Keng Swee’s 1968 plan to secure gold for Singapore despite an embargo. The torn US dollar bill used to authenticate the deal is held above waves of gold, carrying a larger story of foresight and resolve.

Together, the works make GIC’s values and history visible without turning the space into a museum.
