2015
For Singapore’s golden jubilee, Supermama invited us, along with 49 other designers,to join Little Red Dot, reinterpreting National Archives of Singapore materials on handcrafted porcelain vessels.
We received a 1960s video still of a kopitiam: an elderly man in striped pajamas brewing coffee amid rows of iconic Carnation Evaporated Milk tins.
Kopi-C (coffee with evaporated milk) is a local favourite, and Carnation’s red-and-white cans are part of the kopitiam landscape. As a tribute to the drink and its culture, we immortalised the Carnation can as a gallery piece — elevating Kopi-C to its deserved status as Singapore’s best beverage.
